James Dozier, Jr.

Brother James Dozier, Jr., was born on October 5, 1941, to the late James and Massie Bell Dozier. He departed his earthly home peacefully on April 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brothers, Deacon Horace Dozier, Sr., and his youngest brother, Willie E. Dozier.

Brother James Dozier accepted Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Reverend G. W. Jones and later recommitted his fellowship to St. Mary's M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Fletcher Lawson, Jr.

Brother Dozier was a fun-loving person and always had a smile on his face. He loved his siblings, and adored his beloved wife of 56 years, Sister Gail M. Dozier, who preceded him in death.
Brother Dozier was employed with the City of Bradenton for many years as an equipment operator. He later retired from Cemex Concrete.

He leaves to cherish the fond memories of his life: a son, Altoris (Earlene) Dozier; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Troy) Keys, who served as his caregiver; grandchildren, Torrian (Amanda) Hird, Dwan Freeman, Janelle Gould, and Mia Murry-Thompson; great-grandchildren, Jordán Van Horn (PA), PS3E4 Latoriya Hird (CA), E3 Ja'torri Freeman, Meah Hird, Addyson Hird, and Xavier Williams; great-great-grandson, Jordan Van Horn, Jr.; brothers, Floyd (Ethel) Dozier and Lloyd (Carol) Dozier; sister-in-law, Sister Rosetta Dozier; in-laws, Reverend John (Camille) Searles, Shirley Annette Keys, Vernon (Aneseia) Searles, and Linda Searles; special nieces and nephews, Pamela Atkins, Gracie (Elder John) Murrell, Theresea (Minister Ricky) Johnson, Annette Dozier, Jannette Dozier,- Horace, Jr. (Cecelia) Dozier, Donald Dozier, Minister Willie (Sharon) Dozier, Floyd Dozier, Lawrence (Jeanette) Taylor, Mark Dozier, Melissa Dozier, Amanda Wilkinson, and Demetris Williams; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He had a special kind of love for his cousins, Nina Mae Lise, Lena Mae Baity, Lena Mae Shellman, the Carnes family, Velma Ann Stokes, Emma Crawford, Elease Williams, and Willie Lee Johnson. And A "Special Buddy" Daisy Cooper.
