Born to John Perry Flinn and the late Elaine June (Wolfe) Flinn on February 2, 1969, Gary was a cherished member of the Manatee County community throughout his 55 years. Predeceased by his mother, Elaine, and his brother William "Billy", Gary's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Kimberly; his children, Colton, Megan Szabo (Tristan) and Kate Germinal (Julian); step-children Amanda Bunch (Aaron) and Alex Rodgers (Elizabeth); his adored grandchildren, Eli, Justine, Ella, Emerson, Kayson, Crimson, Clayton and Kolby; his father, John; his brothers and sisters, Janet Williams, Barbara Blankenship, John Flinn, Joe Flinn and Marie Norfleet. His many nieces and nephews will also feel his absence, as well as a wide circle of friends and colleagues.

Graduating from Manatee High School in 1988, Gary went straight into the workforce with time spent in grocery, vending, and most recently, mechanical assembly at ITW/GSE. While there, he worked on machinery to support the airline industry and military. Gary always entertained his co-workers with his trademarked humor.

Coaching youth sports was his passion. He taught the games of baseball, softball and football in Manatee County for over 30 years. His knowledge and love of coaching impacted the lives of countless kids.

A service to honor Gary's life will be held on June 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at RiverLife Church, 1012 57th Street East, Bradenton. There will be memory cards available at the service so attendees can share memories with the family.
