Jared Michael Johnson, 46, passed away peacefully at home in Bradenton, Florida, on December 5, 2024. Born on June 29, 1978, in Livermore, California, to Douglas and Susan Johnson, Jared's journey through life was marked by love, kindness, and an adventurous spirit.

In 1980, Jared became a big brother to Adam Johnson, and the two shared a close bond that grew over the years. Jared's father's career with Cray Research Super Computers led the family to various states before settling in Boulder, Colorado, in 1982. Boulder became their home for many years and the place where Jared's vibrant personality flourished.

Jared was known for his kind heart and radiant smile, with his dimples, his smile could brighten any room. His deep soothing voice was one that could command attention by all. A natural helper, Jared always lent a hand, to neighbors, friends, or anyone whose path he may have crossed. He radiated generosity and selflessness wherever he went.

In 2001, Jared met the love of his life, Franni Art, at a Halloween party in Boulder. Their connection was instant, and the couple spent 23 beautiful years together, creating memories across Colorado and Florida before settling in Bradenton in 2020.

Jared's love for adventure and the outdoors was evident in his many passions. From snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains to kayaking, fishing, and enjoying the Florida beaches, Jared embraced life with enthusiasm. He cherished his time hiking and camping in Colorado and Wyoming, creating lifelong memories with family and later with Franni and their beloved dogs, Bella, Pippi, and Bronson.

A creative and talented craftsman, Jared found joy in building, gardening, and creating beautiful handmade items, including custom wood cutting boards. Though a commercial plumber by trade, his artistic pursuits reflected his perfectionist nature and love for sharing his skills with others.

Jared's intelligence, humor, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be remembered as a selfless soul, always eager to help, and deeply loved by those fortunate enough to call him family or friend.

Jared is survived by his life partner of 23 years, Franni Art; his parents, Douglas and Susan Johnson; his brother, Adam Johnson; and Franni's parents, Bill and Norah Art. He was preceded in death by his namesake, Michael Kimball, and his grandparents, Harold and Gertrude Kimball, and James Johnson and Gertrude Browning.

A memorial service will be held at Brown & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel. Weather permitting, a celebration of Jared's life will take place on Saturday, January 11, at the beach. Please contact Franni for details.
