Jay Dixon, 74, of Bradenton, FL, passed away on September 12, 2023. Born on December 26, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Jay was known to his loved ones as a funny, witty, and boisterous individual with a big heart. He had a talent for storytelling and could always bring a smile to the faces of those around him.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Terri Dixon (Milan Alaica), and his son, Christian Dixon (Catherine Dixon). He is also survived by his sisters Sharon Spencer, Jo Ellen Alvarez, and Janet Millard, as well as his brother, Thomas Dixon. Jay was a beloved grandfather to Jasmine Dixon, Alex Dixon, James Dixon, and Justin Dixon as well as he was known as Crazy Uncle Jay to his thirteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Dixon, his father, James Dixon, his daughter, Jamie Dixon, and his brother, William Dixon.
Jay attended Saint Mary's primary and high school in Detroit, Michigan. After completing his education, he pursued a career as a truck driver, where he showcased his dedication and work ethic.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church, located at 730 Lafayette Ave. in Royal Oak, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to The National Kidney Foundation or the Dementia Society of America in Jay's memory.
Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Royal Oak, Michigan, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
