Bradenton, Florida - Jay Dwain Marquette, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 20, 2023. He died peacefully in Bradenton, FL.
Jay was born in Rockford, Illinois February 19, 1951, to Dwain and Beverly Marquette. He graduated from Hershey High School in Arlington Heights, IL. In 1972 Jay moved with his family and became a life-long resident of the Sarasota-Bradenton area. He married in 1976 and had 4 children.
He graduated from Trinity Bible College in Dunedin, FL and served in ministry at several churches. Jay loved the Church and served Christ, and many kids, as an AWANA leader for 25 years in various churches. He loved reading Bible stories to his children and grandchildren, singing hymns, and creating beautiful memories with family.
In 1992 Jay earned his Master Plumber and faithfully served his loyal customers with artistry and perfection while driving his well-known ducky-emblazoned work van until he put down the pipe-wrench in 2023.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Tyler, nephew Weston, and numerous loved ones now in Glory. Jay is survived by his four children (Charity, Sarah, Jonathan, and Laura), seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, a sister, and many nieces and nephews.
