Bradenton, Florida - Jeanne Fay (Frankenfield) Shirk, 86, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home. She lived most of her life in Florida with her beloved husband and soulmate of 50+ years, John F. Shirk who passed in 2017. Jeanne lived a full life and enjoyed every day. She was a huge fan of the Florida Rays, the New York Giants, and an annual participant in the famous John Shirk Football Pool. Jeanne never missed Jeopardy and followed the careers of several late-night TV hosts.
Her healthy curiosity about the world and her community kept her watching the news and reading the newspaper so she could discuss local, national and world events with everyone. She and John always made time to help others, including putting on puppet shows for children and volunteering at Our Daily Bread. Jeanne was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed knitting hats for cancer patients.
She will be remembered by family and friends for her easy-going disposition, sense of humor, love of dogs, margaritas, crush on Obama and passion for politics. Jeanne's life was a blessing to all who knew her and memories of her will be their treasure.
