Jeffery Matthew Kohl, affectionately known as Jeff, passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 50 in Bradenton, Florida. Born on August 12, 1974, in Melrose Park, Illinois, Jeff was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ronya Kohl; his cherished children, daughter Phoebe Kohl and son Joseph Kohl; his loving stepchildren, Tyler Hudmon and Mackinzie Hudmon; and his brother, Michael Kohl, along with Michael's wife, Angela, and their sons, Rhett and Derek Kohl. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Kohl and Brenda Viernum.
Jeff attended Leyden High School and furthered his education at the Illinois Institute of Art. He dedicated 31 years to a successful career at Comcast, where he held various positions. In 2018, Jeff fulfilled a lifelong dream by relocating to Bradenton, Florida, a place he adored for its sunshine and proximity to the water.
A passionate fan of the NHL, Jeff particularly enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning. His love for adventure was evident in his motorcycle trips across the country with friends. Jeff was also an avid enthusiast of craft beers and hot sauces, always eager to explore new flavors. All who knew him knew he was diehard Coca-Cola drinker. Jeff was known for his ability to customize any project so that it worked the way he wanted. Known for his infectious laughter and remarkable sense of humor, Jeff was the life of every gathering, a loyal friend, and a devoted family man.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 12, 2025, at Magnolia's Weddings and Events in Bartlett, Illinois, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) in Jeff's memory. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
