Joevetta A. Kreitz

Joevetta A. Kreitz, 88, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family following a short illness on December 28, 2023. She was born November 5, 1935, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Edward Smith and Dorthy Barker Smith.

Joevetta graduated from Springfield High School in 1953 and worked in the administrative offices for Clark County. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles M. Kreitz, in 1955 and they began their family in 1961. She devoted herself to her family and they enjoyed family camping trips and were very involved in school and church activities.

Joevetta returned to work in 1978 as an administrative assistant for Alumni Services for Wittenberg University. In 1985 Charles and Joevetta fulfilled a long-time dream of relocating to Florida where they continued to be active participants in church and social activities until Charles passed in 1999.

Joevetta returned to work as a full-time administrative assistant for Manatee County, and later held the same position for an assisted living center after moving to Ocala. She continued to love and support her family and took great joy from attending school, church, and other activities that her only grandchild Kaitlyn participated in.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Charles E, Kreitrz; her husband, Charles M. Kreitz, and beloved sister and brother-in-law, Louis and Dorothy Rust. She is survived by her daughter, Karla L Kreitz; son, Todd M. Kreitz; granddaughter, Kaitlyn N. Kreitz and niece. Debbie Lever.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM January 18, 2024, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in her name to Tidewell Hospice (https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/).
