John David Gawron, 77, passed away on June 22, 2024, in Ellenton, Florida. Born on September 10, 1946, in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, John dedicated his life to service, family, and the pursuit of personal passions.

John served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1972, showcasing his commitment to his country. He furthered his education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge in 1975. John spent over three decades working as a signalman and foreman for Conrail/CSX, retiring to fulfill his dream of living in Florida.

A man of many interests, John relished his time outdoors, particularly fishing in the ocean. He was an avid card player, enjoyed engaging conversations, and cherished moments spent with his family. His grandson, Alex, was a source of immense pride and joy.

John leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Connie Welch Gawron; daughter, Rachel Gawron Helminiak; son, Jeremy White; and grandson, Alex Helminiak. He is also survived by his sister, Alexis Martin and her husband Don; brother-in-law, Jeffery Loomis; sister-in-law, Mary Gawron; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Marjorie Kane Gawron; brother, Joe Gawron; and sisters, Susan Vontz, Janet Loomis, and infant Jenna Gawron.

Services for John will be held privately and by invitation only.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Veteran's Association or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of John. His legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
