John Manson

Bradenton, Florida - John Clarence Manson (Jack), born March 20, 1927, in Evanston, Illinois to parents, George and Bernadine Manson and sister, Patricia. His younger years were mostly spent in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where he attended Lincoln High School. At the age of seventeen he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II. Upon his return, Jack attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned his law degree. He met his wife Gail Gennrich Manson there and the two were married in 1949. They moved to Bradenton in 1953 where he practiced Law for the next 65 years. He became a Federal Arbitrator in 1974.

A servant to the community, he was General Chairman of the Hernando Desoto Historical Society, Chairman of the Democratic Party, Trustee of the Ringling Museum, President of the Manatee County Bar Association, founding member of the Manatee Community Foundation, supporter of the Manatee Library Foundation, and helped found and served, Our Daily Bread of Bradenton for over thirty years. His service to friends and the community was well known. He was a devout Catholic.

Following the death of his wife Gail Manson in 1984, he married Delores Goethe Manson and they remained together until her death in 2017. Jack had 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is survived by Bruce Manson (Barbara), Elizabeth Manson Bigham (Sid), George Manson (Julie) and William Manson (Leah). He is predeceased by his oldest son, John Manson (Pat).

A visitation will be held from 5:30pm-7:30pm Friday June 14, 2024 at Griffith Cline Funeral Home, 720 Manatee Ave West, Bradenton, FL 34205 .

Graveside Services will be Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Mansion Memorial Park 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222.
