John Mark Gullett, lovingly known as Mark, passed away on April 15, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 63.

Mark was born on December 18, 1962, in Bradenton, to Benjamin Gullett of Duette, Florida, and Alice (McGowin) Gullett of Bradenton, Florida. He graduated from Bayshore High School in 1980, where he excelled in both wrestling and football.

Mark was a retired business owner of Gulley's in Parrish, Florida, and was known for his signature smoked mullet-a family legacy his father began in 1959. He also smoked mullet for Starfish Company for over 20 years. His presence left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends. Mark loved music, fishing, camping, playing pool, and drag racing-simple pleasures that brought him happiness and created lasting memories with those he loved. He was also a familiar face at Papa Joe's and Scalawags, where he formed many lasting friendships.

He is survived by his devoted siblings, Benjamin Gullett Jr. (Milagros Gullett), Elizabeth Gullett, and Richard Gullett (Deannah Gullett); his loving children, Casey Gullett (Twane Dobard) and Joseph Gullett; and his cherished grandchildren, Mason Gullett, John Moore III (Trey), Ariah Dobard, and Twane Dobard Jr. (TJ). Mark also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, who each held a very special place in his heart, as well as the family pet, Rosco, who was always close by his side.

Mark will be remembered for his humor, his strength, and the love he had for his family and friends. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, located at 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, Florida 34209.

A celebration of life will follow from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Palmetto Point Club House, located at 637 43rd Street Boulevard West, Palmetto, Florida 34221.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to his son, Joseph Gullett, to assist with final arrangements.
