John Dean O'Boyle, 71, died peacefully in his home on October 13, 2024, after an almost 2 year battle with advanced stage liver cancer.

John was born November 23,1952 in Evanston, Illinois, the fourth of six children, to Thomas and Nan (Ann Elizabeth) O'Boyle. The O'Boyles eventually settled in the family home on Robsart Rd., in Kenilworth, Illinois, for forty years, until the death of his beloved parents.

John graduated from New Trier East High School in Winnetka, Illinois, and then the University of San Francisco. He began working in the accounting profession in Chicago at Chicago Title and Trust and then Freeman Coal Company. After a brief stint in Seattle, he landed in the Los Angeles area where he worked for a variety of firms. He lived there for many years, where he also began rescuing his cherished German Shepherds, Missy, King and Denver. He then moved to Sheridan, Wyoming for the last 5 years of his career. That adventurous spirit that took him to Wyoming then prompted him to find his forever home. He landed in Bradenton, Florida, just north of Sarasota, with excitement for a warmer climate and the freedom to finally start relaxing.

He is survived by his sisters Ann of Ashland, OR; Barbara of Washington D.C.; Mary (Glen Pszczola) of Lakebay, WA; and Elizabeth of Seattle, WA; and his brother Tom (Ruth) of Ashland, OR; nieces Lindsay Pesacreta (Brian Barrette) and Ann Dean Pszczola; and nephews Christopher Pesacreta and Kevin Pszczola, as well as many dear friends.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Martha Catholic Church in Sarasota at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 22nd.

Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of arrangements.
