John Roger Bone, a 77-year-old resident of Venice, Florida, passed away at his home. He was an avid FSU fan and graduated from Bay High School and Gulf Coast Community College before obtaining his undergraduate and law degrees from Florida State University. He served in the Army as a JAG officer and later worked for the State Attorney's Office in Bradenton before moving to private law practice. He was involved in the Boys and Girls Clubs and the Bradenton Yacht Club, where he was Fleet Captain of Sail and on the House Committee. He earned a master's degree at USF and taught at Venice High School for 21 years, sponsoring the Philosophy Club. He is survived by his sister, two nieces, and three grand-nephews and nieces. Two celebrations of life are planned for November 11, 2023.
