John Francis "Jack" Sheridan passed away on June 17, 2024, 5 days before his 92nd birthday in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on June 22, 1932. Jack was the eldest son of John and Alice Sheridan and grew up in Willmar, Minnesota.

Jack spent his childhood in Willmar and developed life-long friendships at Green Lake. After High School, he served in the Army and returned home to marry Sharon Jacobson and graduate from the University of Minnesota.

Jack and Sharon had 7 children together, Shawna, John, Patrick, Michael, Mary, Thom and Amy. Although they divorced, they continued their friendship and share 11 grandchildren, Michelle, Jackie, Jacob, Nicki, Phillip, Tyler, Allyson, Anna, Maya, Mason and Sam, as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

The blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the sunshine drew Jack to Florida where he settled over 30 years ago. An avid fisherman and outdoor enthusiast, it was the perfect.

Jack joined the U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 84 where he rose through the ranks and met Vivian Elder. Jack and Vivian married and enjoyed a life of travel and boating together before they moved into Westminster Towers Retirement Facility.

"Kayak Jack" was a nickname he was given shortly after they moved there because he spent a lot of time on the water watching manatees and fishing. He created a program for other seniors to be able to get on the waterway to kayak and enjoy nature. He swam every morning, loved to play cards, tell stories, make birdhouses for the wood ducks and signs for the waterway to help protect the manatee.

Jack spent his final day at the swimming pool overlooking the waterway that he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice and younger brother, Eugene. He is survived by his wife, Vivan Elder ; 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

There will be no local Service at this time. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

May the sunshine warm upon your face. May the rains fall upon your fields.

And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
