Johnny who was affectionately known as Bubba to his family was born Jan 28, 1950 in Blakely, GA. Johnny moved to Rubonia FL at a young age. He attended Manatee County Schools. He began playing music with Ms. Callaway and also studied music under Mr. Casey and he became a master Pianist. He worked as a surgical tech at Manatee Memorial and Doctor's hospital from where he retired.

After retirement Johnny opened his home and operated his own senior home health care to care for the elderly. Johnny was a lifelong servant of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor McMillan until his passing and continued to faithfully serve under Pastor Reaves, where he served as musician and head of Culinary ministry. He continued playing music for several churches until his health failed.

Johnny was preceded in death by his birth Father Johnny Jr. Thomas, Father Abe J. Coleman, Sr., Sisters Angeline Dunbar, and Veronica Bostic, and brother Abe J. Coleman, Jr. Also his Grandmother Carrie Murrell. He leaves to cherish his memories, Mother, Eva M. Coleman, Sisters Forestine (ElderRoosevelt) Dunbar, Barbara (Elder Al) Smith, and Debbie (Elder Robert) Smith. Brother-in-law Truman Dunbar. Family from Quincy, FL Sisters Dorothy (Frederick) March, Oral (Tolulope) Amoran, Pinkie (Woodrow) Pride, Bonnie Williams, Annette Thomas, Marranda (David) Laws. Brothers Willie Lovejoy, Emmanuel (Nikki)Thomas, and Jacob Thomas. Aunts Rutnett Salters, Carrie Murrell- Caswell. Uncles Flozell (Valorie) Murrell and Louis Sr. (Atherline) Murrell. Special Friends Lucinda Paige, Sammy Lane, Eddie Johnson, and Joe Burston. And a host of other Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
