Juanita Irene Franks Caskey Bradenton, Florida Juanita Irene “Nita” Caskey passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Maxwell Caskey, who died in 1988.
Nita is survived by her four children: Pamela Knapp (Elery), Michael Caskey (Sandy), Patricia Lanza (Rich), and Dana Caskey. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Cory Knapp (Megan), Russ Knapp (Laura), and Jill Knapp; her eleven great grandchildren, Dustin, Rebekah (Montana), Elizabeth (Malik), Xyan, Blake, Bailey, Cannon, Riley, Jax, Lainey, and Brinley; and her six great great grandchildren, Baylor, Boone, Kai, Remi, Quay, and Houston. Several nieces and nephews survived her.
Born in Elkhart, Texas, in 1927, Nita lived a long and faithful Christian life marked by devotion to her family and quiet service to others.
During World War II, she was a member of the United States Army Signal Corps in Washington, D.C., a role she held until her marriage to Max in 1945.
In 1947, Nita and Max relocated from Texas to Pennsylvania, where they raised their four children and made their home for 40 years. In 1987, they retired to Bradenton, Florida, where Nita continued to cherish time with family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held for immediate families. A celebration of life will be held later in Bradenton.
