Judith Wool

Judith A. "Judy" Wool, born on December 21, 1941, passed away on November 16, 2024 in Parrish, Florida. Formerly of Chicago, Illinois, Northville, Michigan, and Glen Park, Indiana. She devoted her life to her two daughters and grandchildren.

Judy graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1959 with many lifelong friendships. After graduating from Stephens College in Missouri, she continued her education at Indiana University where she joined Chi Omega Sorority. During this time, she met and married husband Terry and moved to Miller Beach, IN. They loved going to the beach and playing golf and cards with their many friends. While living in Michigan, she enjoyed playing in tennis tournaments, picnics at lake-parks, ice skating, the swimming pool, and neighborhood social events. Judy worked in Personnel Administration at U.S. Steel before having children. She later worked as an Executive Assistant in the Interior Design Manufacturing Division, Masco Industries before relocating to Chicago to be closer to her family.

She loved living in Chicago: walking along the beaches and parks, shopping, eating at trendy restaurants, playing tennis and visiting museums. Her gifted event planning skills helped create fabulous weddings in Chicago for Tracy and Kelly. Her fun-loving nature and energy were contagious, and many will remember her zeal and talent for dancing. Judy was also known for being well-read and sharing her astute wisdom and insight. She was a great vacation planner and traveled to Europe fulfilling her lifelong dream. In her later years, she continued to enjoy avid reading, scrabble, monopoly, cards, and crossword puzzles. She also had many lifelong friends with whom she corresponded regularly on Facebook and shared stories of family events.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Henrietta Bulza; sister, Arlene Bulza; and former husband, Edward Terrence "Terry" Wool. She is survived by her sisters, Bobbie Roth and Cindy Rehn; daughters, Tracy (Sam) Erkonen and Kelly Wool; and her loving grandchildren: Kyle Erkonen, Damien Erkonen and Elena Erkonen.
