Julia M Johnston, aged 79, lost her long battle with lung cancer on October 20, 2024, in Bradenton, FL. Born on March 2, 1945, Julia was known for her sweet, beautiful, passionate, loving nature, and her deep devotion to her family.

Julia is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond E. Johnston of Bradenton, FL. The day they met in Nicaragua at a baseball game, Ray declared that he would marry her one day, and they were together from that day on. Julia is also survived by her daughter, Regina M. Beatty and her husband Darren of Lakewood Ranch, FL; son, Raymond E. Johnston, Jr. and his wife Dana of Lovettsville, VA; grandson, Julian P. Grubbs of Parrish, FL; Alura Johnston (Michael Wohl) of Gaithersburg, MD and great-grandchildren, Bridgette Clark-Grubbs of Irwin, PA, Xxaiver Raymond Grubbs of Greensburg, PA; Ella Wohl of Gaithersburg, MD Extended grands and great grands, include Aubrey Morgart (Chad and Paige) of Schellsburg, PA; Clay Croasdale (Dixi and Love) of Indian Rocks, Fl, Teddy Croasdale of Monroeville, PA and her siblings here in the US and Nicaragua. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan R. Grubbs, and other family members.

Julia's interests included reading, staying updated with current events, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her life was a testament to her values of love, family and friends, which was continuously reflected in her daily activities and interactions with those she cared about. Julia shared a special bond with her "daughter/friend" Jasmine Werder (Paul and children) of McKeesport, PA.

A virtual memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Julia's memory and legacy. Details of the virtual service will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory would be preferred.
