Kenneth S. Gardner, 75 of Parrish FL, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born March 2, 1949, in Weymouth, MA, the son of Annis (Pasteris) Gardner and Richard E. Gardner.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1966, proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Ken built a fulfilling career with B&M Railroad, where he worked for many years. On February 4, 1968, Ken married the love of his life, Lois Catherine (Cameron) Gardner.
Together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love and laughter. Ken often said that Cathy was his greatest gift, and the bond they shared was a testament to their love. Ken was a family man and was a proud father to two sons: Todd Gardner and his wife Karen of Keene, NH, and Wayne Gardner and his wife Haley of Manchester, NH. He was an adoring grandfather to seven grandchildren: Kearsten, Trevor, Kiara, Hannah, Nildalany, Kataleya, and Jocoby. His joy grew even greater with the arrival of his two great-grandsons Callen and Maxwell. Known for his warmth and humor, Ken had a special connection with his grandchildren, with many memories they will never forget, such as his playful "Whatta" response whenever they called, "Hey Grandpa!". Ken also loved sharing stories about their ancestry, ensuring that his family's history and heritage would be passed down for generations. Ken's passions included golfing and spending time at Woodmore Campground in Rindge, NH. He found joy in helping around the campground, whether splitting wood or tackling other tasks. When not working, Ken loved walking his dog, Bailey, and making new friends at the campsite.
This love of community extended to his neighborhood in Parrish, FL, where Ken continued his daily walks with Bailey, making friends, and sharing stories at the dog park. Ken was a natural storyteller who was always delighted to share moments of his life and his grandchildren's accomplishments. His warmth and genuine interest in others left an impression on everyone he met.
Preceding Ken in death are his parents Richard and Annis(Pasteris) Gardner and his sister Patricia Gardner.
A celebration of life is to be determined. Ken's family invites all who knew and loved him to remember and honor his remarkable life, one filled with love, service, and cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to American Cancer Society or the Air Force Aid Society.
