Kenneth (Ken) Richard Dunlap of Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully after a brief illness on September 27, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in Freedom, PA on July 10, 1943, Ken moved to Bradenton, FL in 1951. Ken graduated from Manatee High School in 1961. He proudly served in the Army as a watercraft operator in the 231st Transportation Company during the Vietnam conflict.
In January of 1970, Ken bought L&S, where he built a reputation based on hard work, integrity, and dedication. Even more than the success he achieved, he was most proud of the lasting relationships with customers, employees, and community members. The business continues to serve the Bradenton community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jo Carole Dunlap; daughter, Kellie Dunlap Clouse (Mike Clouse) of Weddington, NC; son, Richie Dunlap of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Mackenzie Clouse, Landon Clouse, Carter Dunlap, Bodie Dunlap, and Delaney Dunlap; and brother, Don Dunlap of Canton, GA.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday October 28th,2026, at 11:30AM at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72 (Clark Road).
