Law Enforcement MCSO Announces Deputy of the Year and Other Awards

BRADENTON – Last Friday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office held its annual awards luncheon, honoring employees and volunteers in five categories. 9th year Deputy, Justin Warren was named Deputy of the year for his role in diffusing a situation in which a suicidal man flooded his home with gas fumes from his stove. Warren was successfully able to talk down the resident, while preventing the potential for injury to everyone on the scene. Warren was named MCSO Deputy of the Month in February.

Awards:

Deputy of the Year – DEPUTY JUSTIN WARREN (9 years – Patrol North) – For his interpersonal skills to build rapport with a suicidal man and avoid injury to those at the scene after he flooded his residence with gas fumes from the stove.  (February, 2012).

Employee(s) of the Year – ROBERT FEVERSTON (15 Years; Fingerprint Examiner) and ADRIANNE WALLS (6 years; resigned September 2012; Crime Scene Tech) – For their work in Briles homicide case to process and analyze evidence, match fingerprints and testify in court, resulting in identification, arrest and conviction of suspect.  (November 2009-August 2012).

Bealls Humanitarian – CHERYL SEISS (15 years – Records/Mail Clerk) – For her work to coordinate MSO employees in blood donation drives and generous giving to various charities supported by MSO.  Overall positive attitude and active interest in the well-being of others. (Ongoing thru 2012)

 Robert Molter Memorial Volunteer – DEPUTY DEBRA FREER (17 years – Patrol East) – Over the course of many years, giving time and resources to our community and its citizens; a living example of “be kind and love one another”; participating in children’s school activities, serving as Guardian ad litem, active participation in church ministry, Adviser for Sheriff’s Office Explorer/Cadets and recently a member of MSO Family Assistance Committee (Ongoing).
