Letter to the Editor: Thoughts on the ?-Penny Tax

A True Political Bureaucrat is ... one who gets up every morning an and asks himself, “Who or What can I tax today?"

Never would it cross their minds to even think, How or Where can we save taxpayers money today?

The mantra of these “true Bureaucrats” is "tax, tax, tax, spend, spend and spend some more."

I would have no problem with a ½ -penny tax if there were assurances of designating these monies specifically for property owner tax relief. However, from what I understand, this is not the case.

In addition, I believe since that Manatee County has enough monies in its coffers to cover indigent health care to the year 2015, I believe that this vote is a bit premature. We should adopt the logical approach and just see what Obama Care will and will not cover concerning health care for our indigent.
