Linda Jean Swinson joined her husband, Alfred, in Heaven on November 6, 2025. Born on April 6, 1945, she grew up in the fishing village of Cortez. She settled in Bradenton, with Alfred, whom she married in 1963.
She was a beloved Lunch Lady for over 30 years at Manatee Elementary School. She was also an active member of Samoset Baptist Church, where she served for many years on the Kitchen Committee and played a Villager in their annual Walk Through Bethlehem.
Linda leaves behind her daughters, Kimberly Barnes and Lori Barr; grandsons, Ryan Baldwin, Joshua Baldwin, and Benjamin Barr; great-grandchildren, twins Grayson and Avery; sisters, Lois Watkins and Loredda Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
Linda's services will be held on Friday November 14, at Samoset First Baptist Church, located at, 3200 15th Street East, Bradenton, FL. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM and the funeral will begin at 11:00AM. A luncheon will be served in the Fellowship Hall, immediately following the service.
