Little League tournaments continue today and Saturday

Posted

The Florida District 26 Little League recently hosted its 2nd Annual County Cup Tournament from May to June.

It gives all players, some of whom wouldn't necessarily make an All-Star team, the opportunity to participate in a county-wide Tournament of Champions.

Shortly after that, the league hosted the District All-Star Tournament from June 26 through July 18 at Braden River Park, where Braden River Little League plays ball. This tournament determined the best team from each age division to go on to the next division of tournament play.

The Section IV Tournament is a two-weekend tournament which began July 17-18 and will continue today and Saturday.

Florida District 26 Little League had the honor of hosting this year's Section IV Tournament at Lakewood Ranch Park, where the Manatee East Little League plays.

District All-Star winners, from four area Little League districts (Plant City, Tampa/Bloomingdale. Land O'Lakes/Dade City and Manatee County) will compete in a sectional tournament to determine which teams will go on to compete in the State Tournament later this month.
