BRADENTON -- It's a slow week in local government because of the New Year holiday. The Manatee County Commission will meet for the first time in 2013 for a special land use meeting on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Bradenton City Council will convene for a special meeting Wednesday to swear in members serving terms beginning in January.
