MANATEE COUNTY -- Local government is back in gear. Manatee County Commission and the school board will meet, while the City of Bradenton will hold a public meeting on clean energy strategies. On Monday, the school board will vote on the 2012-13 budget, while the BOCC convenes Tuesday for a double work session and again Thursday for a land use meeting.

A public meeting is scheduled to introduce and develop strategies and management practices for energy efficiency and conservation. The City of Bradenton has retained Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to assist in developing its Clean Energy Policy through funding from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program of the U.S. Department of Energy.
