BRADENTON -- It's a light week in local government because of the Memorial Day holiday. Bradenton will hold a city council workshop on Wednesday morning, but the big event will be Thursday morning, when Manatee County administrators lay out the big picture in terms of projected revenues and expenses, kicking off the budget process. In light of declining revenues, recent presentations have often been dominated by discussions over what areas to cut, as well as the perennial debate on where to set property tax rates. As always, the meeting is open to the public who can attend and give comment.
