Local Nonprofit has Unit Available for Qualified Veteran in Need of Housing

BRADENTON — Our Next Mission, a local nonprofit that provides housing to at-risk veterans, currently has a two-bedroom, partially furnished unit in Pescara Lake Mobile Home Park in Bradenton, which will be ready for occupancy starting next week.
ONM refurbishes mobile homes and gifts them to eligible veterans at no cost to the vet. The following criteria are required to be considered for this home:
  • A veteran who was honorably discharged from military service (please submit DD214)
  • A veteran who can demonstrate they are either living in unsafe/substandard housing or homeless
  • Pescara Lake Mobile Home Park is age-restricted to those 55 years or older
  • Successfully pass a background check (credit and criminal) to be a tenant in Pescara Lake (conducted by Pescara Lake upon submittal of application)
  • Have sufficient income to pay the monthly lot rental fee of approximately $1,100 a month, along with other living expenses.
