Long Bar Pointe Map Amendment to be Considered at Jan. 23 Meeting

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County Commissioners on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 will hold an adoption public hearing to consider the privately initiated amendment request to Manatee County’s future land use map for the 463-acre Long Bar Pointe property.

The map amendment request will be the only item on the agenda during the meeting which is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd, Palmetto.

The meeting will be broadcast live at www.mymanatee.org/mga and on Manatee Government Access (MGA) channel locally on Bright House channel 622, Verizon channel 30 and Comcast channel 20.

At the Aug. 6 Land Use meeting, Commissioners held a public hearing and voted to transmit a request for a map amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to state agencies for review. After receiving comments from the state, the County is now required to hold an public hearing to consider adoption.

At the conclusion of the public hearing on Jan. 23, the Board of County Commissioners will have the ability to adopt the amendment, adopt it with modifications or deny the request for the map amendment.
