It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lucy F. Adorna (nee Szumski) on February 12, 2026, while surrounded by loved ones in Bradenton, Florida. She was 68.

Lucy was born on December 20, 1957, in Plainfield, NJ to Bernard and Dolores Szumski. She lived in South Plainfield, NJ most of her life before splitting time between Barnegat, NJ and Cortez, FL after retiring from her career as a Medical Assistant.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose vibrant personality was on display wherever she went. She loved spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandsons, traveling, going to the beach, and reading.

She is predeceased by her father, Bernard P. Szumski, her mother, Dolores Szumski, her grandmother, Lucy M. Schiappa, her brother, David B. Szumski, and her brother, Alan Szumski. Surviving is her husband, Joseph M. Adorna, of Barnegat, NJ; her daughter, Nicole M. Worth and her husband, Jason Worth, of Brick, NJ; her two grandchildren, Nicholas and Lucas Worth, of Brick, NJ; her son, Joseph P. Adorna and his husband, Jacob B. Creadeur, of Houston, TX; her sister, Debbie Spooner, of South Plainfield, NJ; her niece, Michelle Donnelly, of South Plainfield, NJ; her niece, Monica Collins and her wife, Jennifer Collins, of Matawan, NJ; and her nephew, Ryan Szumski, and his wife, Megan Szumski, of Martinsville, NJ.

A Celebration of Life service will be held privately in Middlesex, NJ at a later date.
