Manatee Accepting Applications for Low-income Housing Improvements

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County Neighborhood Services Department is now taking applications for housing assistance for low and very low income households to help disabled individuals.

This year Manatee County will disburse $145,000 in State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) funds to assist with repairs and modifications to bring homes up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance.

Eligible homeowners may apply for up to $65,000 in home repairs. Applicants must provide verification of Disability Income and the value of the home may not exceed $144,000 for very low income households or $160,000 for low income households.
