Manatee County Accepting Animal Services Advisory Board Applications

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County is accepting applications for five seats on the Animal Services Advisory Board, a citizen’s advisory committee that makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on animal-related issues. 


The seats, whose terms are expiring July 31, are in the following categories: 

·   Two people who represent organizations, agencies or voluntary associations in the community whose primary objective and purpose is the care, handling and rescue of animals; 

·   One person who has expertise in business and organization and/or operational endeavors. 

Advisory Board members whose terms are expiring may reapply to the Board. All applicants must be Manatee County residents. Applicants are asked to make note on the application of the category they’re applying for, if applicable. 

The Animal Services Advisory Board is comprised of seven members who are appointed by the County Commission. The group meets on the second Wednesday, every other month, at 5:45 p.m. at the Central Library, 1301 Barcarrota Blvd., Bradenton. 

The four-year term for the five upcoming vacancies begins July 31
