Manatee County Government Closed Monday for MLK Day

MANATEE COUNTY – Manatee County Government offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Also, during the holiday weekend most online services will be unavailable throughout the weekend as the county performs electronic systems maintenance. 

Trash and recycling pickup schedules will continue as normal next week. However, online bill pay for Manatee County Utilities customers will be suspended from Friday evening through Monday. Online bill pay will resume Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The county’s website, www.mymanatee.org will also be unavailable from Friday evening through Tuesday morning. Online and telephone-based building permitting services will be unavailable throughout the outage. Applicants may still submit electronic land development and permit plans through Buzzsaw, which will not be impacted by the outage.

Each of Manatee’s public library branches will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 21.  Any items checked out that show a due date of the Jan. 18 will be due Tuesday, Jan. 21. There will be no access to any of the libraries’ online services including e-Books, the library’s catalog and patron account information, from 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17 through Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Manatee County Area Transit and the Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes.

Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open. Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public. Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. 

G.T. Bray Recreation Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 but will remain open Saturday, Jan. 18 and Sunday, Jan. 19.
