MANATEE COUNTY -- Manatee looked impressive in their pre-season debut Friday against East Lake, routing the Tarpon Springs school 38-7. Led by the top-ranked defensive line prospect in Florida, Demarcus Christmas and returning thousand-yard rusher Trevon Walters, the Hurricanes, who were ranked number-one in the nation last year before losing to St. Thomas Aquinas in the state semi-finals, will be a force to be reckoned with again in 2013. They kick off their regular season in a special Sunday ESPN game against Maryland powerhouse Gilman at the University of Maryland.
