Manatee Players to Drop Final Curtain at Riverfront Theater

Posted

BRADENTON – In a special show this Sunday, local theater fans can say goodbye to the historic riverfront theater that has been the epicenter of downtown performing arts since its opening in 1953. The Manatee Players will stage a special one-night performance titled What I did for Love. Proceeds will help to provide the grand drape for the new Manatee Performing Arts Center, which opens later this month.

At the end of the evening, there will be a ceremonial retiring of the curtain. Actors in the audience will wear their favorite show shirt and join the cast on stage for a final number, What I Did For Love, from the hit musical A Chorus Line.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $50 - $125 and are available through the box office, online at www.manateeplayers.com or by calling 941-748-5875. Miss Saigon will open at the Players' new home, the Manatee Performing Arts Center, on March 2 and runs through April 14.
