Manatee's Special Olympics Tennis Team Meets Legendary Coach

BRADENTON -- The Special Olympics of Manatee County (SOMC) tennis team got to meet with legendary tennis coach Nick Bolletieri at IMG Academy Monday night. Bolletieri, who's worked with such stars as Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Monica Seles and the Williams sisters took time to share some tips with the special athletes who train with student volunteers at IMG's facility.

SOMC survives solely on donations and the work of dedicated volunteers. Athletes never have to pay a fee to participate, and are supplied with equipment and uniforms, as well as transportation and meals when traveling to compete. The group raises their own funds through can drives, fund raisers and donations.
