BRADENTON – The Marauders (39-35, 4-1) unleashed an 18-hit attack on the Palm Beach Cardinals (40-35, 4-1) on Monday night en route to an 11-6 win at McKechnie Field. The Marauders tied season highs in hits and runs while establishing a new high in extra-base hits with nine.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, the Marauders evened the score when Eric Wood led off the inning with his second home run of the season. Bradenton pushed across three more runs in the inning to surge in front 4-1, and Palm Beach starter Tyrell Jenkins (L, 1-1) did not return for the third.

Jose Osuna took Thomas Lee out to right field for a solo home run, his third of the season, to extend the lead to 5-1. Another run in the fourth and a five run outburst in the sixth put the lead in double figures at 11-1. The Marauders hit seven doubles, two shy of the Florida State League record. Adam Frazier and Josh Bell each hit two doubles.

Jason Creasy (W, 4-3) surrendered a solo home run to David Washington in the top of the second, but scattered eight hits over seven innings to avoid any further damage. Creasy struck out three and did not walk a batter.

Jeff Inman allowed one run in the eighth inning and Bryton Trepagnier finished the game with a rocky ninth, surrendering the final four runs of the game. Charlie Tilson hit his fourth homer of the season in the ninth for Palm Beach.

Eight of the nine Marauders batters hit safely in the game. Seven different batters had at least one extra-base hit. Eight of the Marauders 10 RBIs in the game came with two outs.

The Marauders and Cardinals play the rubber match of the series on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Tyler Glasnow will start for Bradenton against Joe Cuda for Palm Beach. Gates open at 9:30 a.m.
