Marauders' Dodson Named FSL Pitcher of the Week

BRADENTON – Marauders starting pitcher Zack Dodson has been named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the period August 5-August 11. Dodson pitched seven scoreless, hitless innings on Sunday, August 11 in a 5-3 victory over the Charlotte Stone Crabs.

Dodson recorded his longest start of the season and matched his season high with five strikeouts. The 23-year-old left-handed pitcher limited the Stone Crabs to just three walks.

Only two Charlotte batters got the ball out of the infield against Dodson, who got 12 groundouts. The Stone Crabs didn’t manage a hit in the game until the ninth inning.

With wins in four of his last five starts, Dodson is now 5-8 on the season. The dominant start at Charlotte Sports Park lowered his ERA to 4.67. Opposing batters are hitting .259 against him.

Dodson resides in Natalia, Texas. He is in his fifth season of professional baseball.
