Marauders' Navarro Named FSL Pitcher of the Week

BRADENTON – Marauders starting pitcher Eliecer Navarro has been named the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the period May 27-June 2. Navarro pitched seven scoreless innings on Friday, May 31 in a 3-0 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads.

 

Navarro matched his career long start and recorded his second highest strikeout total of his career with seven. The 25-year-old held the Hammerheads to just three hits and did not walk a batter.

 

Despite a 1-9 record, Navarro has been one of the Marauders most consistent performers this season. He sports an earned run average of 3.08. In nine of his 10 starts he has surrendered less than four earned runs. He has struck out 55 batters against just 12 walks this season. Opponents are batting just .247 against him.

Navarro resides in David, Panama. He is in his fourth season of professional baseball.
