Marauders Open Mid-August Homestand Tuesday

BRADENTON – The Marauders host the Palm Beach Cardinals from Tuesday, August 13 through Thursday, August 15, and the Fort Myers Miracle on Friday, August 16 and Sunday, August 18 at McKechnie Field. First pitch is at 5:00 p.m. on August 13 and August 18, with gates opening at 4:00 p.m. Games on August 14 through August 16 will begin at 6:30 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 13 will be a doubleheader against the Cardinals to make up for the rained out game on July 1.Both games will be seven innings in length. The Marauders will hold the annual Back to School Night backpack giveaway. The first 500 fans will receive a Marauders backpack stuffed with useful items for the start of the new school year. Members of the First Mates Kids Club will play catch on the field between games, and Baseball Bingo presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs and Precision Litho Service will be played. Employees of the Manatee County School District can purchase $1 tickets by presenting their school district ID at the McKechnie Field ticket office.

The series against Palm Beach continues on Wednesday, August 14. The Marauders will hold the Get Your Pink On! breast cancer awareness game on Thursday, August 15. Get Your Pink On! is presented by Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute with media partner ABC 7. The game is a Thirsty Thursday presented by Budweiser, so sodas and select draft beers will cost just a dollar. A post-game DJ will keep the party going postgame at the Kona Bar built by NDC Construction.

The entire night will be dedicated to raising money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Before the game, cancer survivors will have the opportunity to be recognized on field. A Survivors Walk around the warning track will be held at 6:00 p.m.

The Marauders will wear pink jerseys which will be available for auction during the game. Winning bidders will be invited to receive the jersey directly from the player wearing it. Players will autograph the jersey and pose for pictures with winning bidders.

Fans can participate in a “pay to pop” balloon pop with great prizes available. A pink bra competition will also be held. A portion of the proceeds raised will go to the American Cancer Society.

Friday, August 16 is the fifth and final Bark in the Park. Pooch passes cost $2, which will be donated to the Humane Society of Manatee County. The first 500 fans will receive a Marauders dog bowl courtesy of Pepsi. Designated doggy water areas will be provided.

It is also a Happy Hour Friday presented by Pier 22 Restaurant. From 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., 500 free hot dogs will be given away at the outfield concessions stand and $1 sodas and $1 domestic draft beers will be sold at the Kona Bar Built by NDC Construction and the Yuengling Plaza Bar thanks to Kayem and Cheney Brothers.

Friday is also Football Night. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite football team apparel to the ballpark. Football themed prizes will be given away throughout the game. After the game, there will be a postgame concert by 80’s cover band SuperBot. The Kona Bar built by NDC Construction will remain open during the concert.

Sunday, August 18 is a Wendy’s Family Fun Sunday. All tickets are only $1 and regular-size Kayem hot dogs cost just $1. Tickets must be purchased at the McKechnie Field ticket office in order to receive the $1 pricing. After all Sunday games, children 13 and younger can run the bases in the Kids Fun Run presented by Mosaic.

The McKechnie Field ticket office is open on non-game days from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday-Friday and closed on weekend non-game days. On Monday-Saturday game days, the ticket office opens at 1:00 p.m. and closes at the conclusion of the game. On Sunday game days and special games with 10 a.m. start times, the ticket office opens two hours prior to the game.
