ST LUCIE -- The Bradenton Marauders (7-13) used a six-run seventh inning to break open a 2-1 game against the Mets at Tradition Field Thursday night, rolling to a 9-1 win to open the three game series. Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with two doubles and drove in four runs.
Adrian Sampson started for the Marauders, surrendering one run over 4 and 2/3 innings. Zack Von Rosenberg (W, 1-0) replaced Sampson and stayed on the hill until the eighth, holding St. Lucie at bay while the Marauders reeled off runs.
Seven Marauders had at least one hit in the game. Alen Hanson finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Taylor Lewis went 2-for-5 at the plate and scored in two runs. Lewis sparked the seventh inning rally with a bunt hit.
The Marauders and Mets meet again Friday night at 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
