JUPITER – The Marauders (5-5) were shutout 6-0 on Sunday afternoon by the Jupiter Hammerheads (4-6) at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter starter Austin Brice (W, 2-0) held the Marauders to two hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking one.

Bradenton’s best chance to score was in the top of the seventh. Walker Gourley was hit by a pitch to open the inning. Adam Frazier dropped down a sacrifice bunt with the corner infielders charging. Seeing third base uncovered, Gourley advanced to third. As multiple Jupiter infielders raced to cover third, Frazier alertly advanced to second. Both runners wound up stranded as Brice recovered to strike out Josh Bell, induce an infield-in ground out to first by Jordan Steranka, and an inning-ending ground out by Jonathan Schwind.

Marauders righty Jason Creasy matched Brice for six innings. Creasy allowed four hits, walked one batter, and finished with two strikeouts. Creasy did not factor in the decision.

Jupiter broke through for a pair of runs against Ryan Hafner (L, 0-1) in the bottom of the seventh. Viosergy Rosa reached on an error and advanced to second when Matt Juengel walked. After a sacrifice bunt moved both runners over, Ryan Goetz stroked an opposite field double to left to score both runs and give Jupiter a 2-0 lead. The Hammerheads batted around in the eighth, plating four runs to establish the final margin.

The Marauders return to Roger Dean Stadium on Monday to begin a three game series against the Palm Beach Cardinals. Chad Kuhl will be on the mound for Bradenton. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
