Margaret Laird "Peggy" Kronus, of Parrish, FL, passed away September 5, 2023 at the age of 80. Born December 16, 1942, in Augusta, GA, Peggy grew up in Westfield, NJ. A graduate of Cedar Crest College, Peggy's professional career, as an educator, began in New York. After moving to Bradenton, FL, she taught at Palma Sola Presbyterian Preschool, Jessie P. Miller Elementary, Bayshore Elementary and Gene Witt Elementary. Peggy's genuine compassion toward people, animals, nature, and the arts were obvious in her classroom as she inspired a love of learning and appreciation for all living things. Beyond the classroom, this was evident as she volunteered at her granddaughter's school; served as games coordinator for Manatee County Special Olympics; worked at a local cat rescue and, as an early morning jogger, participated in countless running events in support of various local philanthropic organizations. Her beautiful nature watercolors leave behind a wonderful legacy.
Peggy is survived by her son, James P. Kronus, IV (Lisa); granddaughter, Haley Kronus Triggs (Alexio); step grandson, Robbie Feldman; brother, George S. Laird, Jr. (Carol Ann); nieces, Kyle, Jennifer and Colleen and many beloved cousins. She was a wonderful and special friend to Jenny Wilder and Lynda Gust. While spending summers at her favorite place, the lake house in the Poconos, Peggy amassed a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by parents, George S. Laird, Sr. and Marjorie Merritt Laird. Peggy touched more hearts than we'll ever know and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
