Margaret (Peggy) Cotter, 77, formerly of Fort Wayne, IN, left us peacefully on Friday March 27, 2026, at her home in Bradenton, FL.
Margaret was born October 18, 1948, in Jonesboro, Indiana. She lived there with her parents, John and LaDonna O’Mara until she met the love of her life Michael Cotter and was married on August 19, 1967.
They had three children Michael J. Cotter of Columbia City, IN Marc (Stefanie) Cotter of Fort Wayne, IN, and Molly (Rich) Striker of New Haven, IN.
Peg was a huge Green Bay Packers fan, Chicago White Sox fan, enthusiastic Tampa Bay Lightning fan, and the biggest collector of flamingos!!
Her most treasured things in life were her DEVINE 9. Her precious grandchildren. Marc (Maryssa), Haile (Matt), Paul and Madie Cotter, Hannah Cotter, Grace (Trevor) Rupp, Mary Cotter and Mara and Jake Striker. She also has three great grandchildren, Marc, Louie and Cece Cotter.
Peg cherished her friends who became family from St Joseph Catholic Church and Swan Lake Village. She valued the time she worked at the thrift store and all her friends. She was extremely proud of her St Joseph Church Women’s Fellowship group that met on Sundays for dinner. She loved this group. This group not only helped her with the loss of her husband but also helped other ladies of the church come together in Christ.
Peg is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, parents John and LaDonna O’Mara and sister and brother-in-law Judi and David Kaniewski.
A funeral mass will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St W, Bradenton Fl on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:15am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memorial of Peggy can be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 1111 8th Ave. W, Bradenton, FL 34205.
