Margaret Jean Brogan

Margaret (Peggy) Jean Brogan, age 78, of Parrish, Florida, passed away on April 12, 2026. She was born on February 1, 1948, in Lansing, Michigan, and lived a life marked by intelligence, warmth, devotion, and grace.

Peggy was a bright and happy woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She was known for her loving nature, her sharp mind, and her genuine care for her husband, her family, and her beloved dogs and cats. Those who knew her will remember her as a woman of kindness and strength, someone who carried herself with dignity and who made others feel welcome and valued.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Simmons, with whom she shared 40 years together and 20 years of marriage. Their life together was built on companionship, love, and mutual respect. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Hamilton of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her brother, John Brogan of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Seymour, and her brother, Jim Brogan.

Peggy graduated from East Lansing High School and went on to attend Michigan State University, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She later earned her MBA from the University of Miami Herbert Business School, where she graduated number one in her class as valedictorian. Her academic achievements reflected the determination and discipline that would define much of her life.

She enjoyed a long and successful career in sales, with particular expertise in event sales and planning. Peggy worked at the Holiday Inn in Marquette, Michigan, for five years, where she developed her skills and built lasting professional relationships. She later continued her career at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota, Florida, where she served in Association Event Sales for 14 years. Throughout her career, she was respected for her professionalism, her attention to detail, and her ability to create memorable experiences for others.

Peggy also had a deep love of travel and treasured the many places she was able to see during her lifetime. She traveled to the Bahamas, Paris, Ireland with her sisters Pat and Mary, Rio de Janeiro, and Cuba. These journeys brought her great joy and created memories she cherished. She appreciated the beauty of the world and the happiness that came from sharing those experiences with the people she loved.

She will be remembered as an intelligent and loving woman whose life was defined by devotion to family, excellence in her work, and a spirit that remained bright throughout her years. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.
