It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Marge Vita, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all, who left this world at the remarkable age of 93.
Born during the Great Depression, in Irvington, New Jersey, Marge devoted her life to uplifting others. After a long and meaningful career at Blake Hospital as Director of Volunteer Services, she brought her boundless energy, compassion, and ingenuity to Dogs Inc, where she spent the next 25 years and 9 months managing the Gift Shop. Under her care, the Gift Shop grew from a humble unused office, to a portable trailer, and finally to the beautiful Puppy Academy location we see today. During her time at Dogs Inc., Marge contributed an extraordinary 10,939 hours of service. Her love for the organization was as evident as her warm smile, sharp wit, and endless compassion for others.
Alongside her beloved breeder dog, Smooch, Marge quickly became a treasured part of the Dogs Inc. family. Marge's kindness and cleverness were unmatched, and her remarkable spirit inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether through her thoughtful conversations or gentle encouragement, Marge was, and always will be, loved by all.
Marge was a devoted member of her community and loved Manatee County deeply. She and her husband, Bob, were dedicated members of the Pittsburgh Pirate Bradenton Boosters and loved being at the ballpark. Prior to her career at Blake Hospital, Marge volunteered countless hours and became the President of the Florida Association of Volunteer Services. She could often be found working in many community organizations helping those who were less fortunate than her. Marge also liked to have fun and could often be found on the greens at Bradenton Country Club with many of her friends.
She will be deeply missed by her wonderful family who loved her very much. Marge was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bob) Vita. The love they shared knew no bounds and will be forever present in their children, Cindi Vogel (Rick), Chris-Anne Mumblo (Bruce), Tracey Vita, Robert Vita and John Vita (Tompie). She had 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and cherished "Sunday Dinner" with all of them.
