Marguerite "Peggy" Scanny, 82 passed away in Bradenton, Florida on April 2, 2026. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey on August 22, 1943.

Peggy grew up in Princeton New Jersey and graduated from Princeton high school in June 1961. Peggy had an administrator assistant job at New Jersey Bell Atlantic and resided in Somers Point, New Jersey with her beloved husband Bill Scannapieco, of 46 years until they moved to Florida in August 2006.

Peggy enjoyed her flowers, the beach, swimming in the pool, traveling, bowling and being around her family and friends.

Her friends, Georgia, Diana, and Patti (Mike) shared some beautiful memories they had with Peggy Georgia wrote, I met Peggy just a few months after I married in 1966. We became instant friends. We had many fun times together before they moved to Florida, with late night haircuts and hairdos after I finished work. We didn’t see a lot of each other once they moved, but we had many two-hour phone calls. Peggy was a special person, and I will miss the fun times we had in the last 60 years. It’s been a long time to be friends and I’m happy to have those memories.

Diana wrote, Peggy and I became friends when she and Glenny came to work at New Jersey Bell. The three of us became friends and usually went to lunch together. Peggy and I remained friends for 50+ years.

Patti said, I met Peggy and Bill back in 2006 when they were going to sell their house and moved to Florida. Once Mike and I moved to Florida, we shared many holidays together (birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving) and spent time at their vacation spot in Longboat. We have been friends/family for over 20 years, and I will miss Peggy greatly.

Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Scannapieco, and her parents, James and Doris Donaldson. She is survived by her brother James Donaldson, and two stepchildren Theresa Ewer (and family) and Billy (Cathy) Scannapieco.
