Bradenton, Florida - Marilyn (Boots) Bode, 93, of Parrish, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday February 3, 2024. She was born Marilyn Nadine Taylor on April 29th, 1930, in Elkhart, Indiana, the daughter of Noble Taylor and Marie Oberhauser. Marilyn was proceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herman Bode Jr., (2015). Marilyn is survived by her five children, Rick (Sherri) Bode, Barb and her daughter, Megan Bode, Tim (Cindy) Bode, Brenda (Carl) Brandt, Michelle (Jeff) Tustin, in-laws, Sue Bode, Jane Bode-Fowler and Jim and Jo Bode, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Marilyn married Herman on November 4th, 1950, they spent the first eight years of their married life in Grant, Michigan, until their home burned down in December of 1958. They spent the next fourteen years moving between Florida and Michigan three times, until finally settling in Wyoming, Michigan in 1973. After both retired, in 1997, they moved one last time to Florida, where they settled in Sun City Center, near Bradenton. A few years after Herman's death, Marilyn moved to Veranda Springs, Parrish, Florida.

Marilyn was full of life, with a great sense of humor, a quick wit and sharp mind to the very end of her life. While in the hospital and Nursing home, she professed her faith to the doctors and nurses and told them that she was ready to go to her heavenly home. Marilyn spent the last two weeks of her life resting peacefully and pain free under the excellent care of the nursing staff at Tidewell Hospice House, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
