Marjorie J. Lasater (Marge), 87, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. Marge was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family.
Marge was born on August 8, 1937. She spent much of her life in Upstate New York, where she raised her family and created a sanctuary for her children. Her strength and sense of family defined her, and she was always there to offer guidance and support.
She was predeceased by her husband, Archie Lasater, who passed on February 11, 2018. Over their 63-year marriage, Marge was Archie's partner in the used car business in New York and then in Florida, where they relocated in 1977. The car business was a staple of the local community, run by Archie, Marge and their two sons, Steve and Jeff, and operated for over 60 years.
Marge had a passion for cooking, baking and reading. Her "recipes" have been handed down to generations as they try to duplicate the flavor with a "pinch of this" and a "dash of that."
Marge is survived by her four children, Steve Lasater (Martha Edwards, Sherri Lasater - former spouse), Debbie Gifford (Doug Bliss), Jeff Lasater (Kim Bociek, Joly Lasater - former spouse), Renee Brady (Tom Brady). She was very proud of her seven grandchildren (Samantha Gifford, Evelyn Pagnozzi (Lasater), Chase Lasater, Daniel Lasater, Jacob Gifford, Christian Lasater and David Lasater) and five great-grandchildren (Cole, Claire, Kyler, Isla and Ava).
Marge's legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
