Marty Tiarks, 64, peacefully departed to his eternal home with his Lord on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice House in Bradenton, Florida.

Martin Edward Tiarks was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 4, 1960, to Harold Frederick and Geraldine Olson Tiarks. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Treynor High School in 1978. On September 8, 2001, he married the love of his life, Lacey Marie Anderson, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Their union was blessed with two cherished daughters, Lilyan Marie and Margaret Elizabeth.

Throughout his career, Marty worked diligently in various roles for several airlines and airports. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Marty was a man of many passions. He found joy in weightlifting, relished the adventures of travel, and cherished the camaraderie of supper clubs with friends. An avid reader, Marty was particularly fond of Westerns and enjoyed the works of Louis L'Amour until his partial vision loss. His dream of residing in Florida was fulfilled two years ago, where he found serenity and contentment with his beloved family.

Above all else, Marty's greatest love was reserved for his family. His kindness, warmth, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Marty is survived by his wife, Lacey; his daughters, Lilyan and Margaret; his mother, Geraldine Tiarks; brother, Bruce (Luanne) Tiarks; sister, Mary Beth (Rusty) Stephens; sister-in-law, Angela (Dave) Wambold; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Colleen and Jeff Brockman. He is also survived by cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marty was preceded in death by his father, Harold Tiarks.

A memorial service to celebrate Marty's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Fellowship Church (18999 US-59, Oakland, Iowa) with a luncheon to follow at the church. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Marty will be remembered for his faith, his generosity, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness and grace. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones gone before him, in the presence of his Lord.

The family is requesting no flowers, as they will be traveling. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
